Longest title ever, I know. But it’s important.
How many times have you said: “I wish I did that too?” Or “How did you do it?” “I don’t have time for it.” Etc.
These must be familiar phrases to every one of you. Because sometimes you just don’t do things that you want. Why is that? We all have excuses, we all want to just hang out with people and not actually do some work.
But if you truly want to achieve something, you will find a time for it. If not, you will find an excuse.
Everyone has the same 24 hours to work around with. No one is getting extra hours. It is undeniably hard to work out a schedule to fit everything in, but that’s why it only takes a little organizing to be able to achieve your goals.
1.) set a goal
Seems obvious, no? You need to know what is it you want to accomplish in order to make it work. Wishing to do 10 different things won’t work out. Choose one thing you are passionate about and that you want. It needs to be something that will keep you moving even during the hardest of times.
2.) make a weekly plan
Creating a schedule for the week ahead helps you figure out what to do when. You can easily fit in your friends, workouts and other hobbies. It might be challenging since a lot of people don’t like to plan on advance and love spontaneous things, but if you have a goal you must work around it.
3.) don’t tell people or tell them – whatever works for you
Some say that by telling others what you want to achieve helps you stay motivated. Some people do like that “pressure” placed on them by others, while I don’t. I prefer to keep my goals to myself until I achieve them, since I don’t like pressure nor the possibility to everyone see me fail.
4.) it won’t be easy – I guarantee it
This is not a step but something you really need to face when jumping into something. Nothing worth having comes easy, so rest a sure that you will face difficulties along the way and you need to be prepared for them. But if you truly want it you will achieve it and all the difficulties that come in your way will just make you stronger.
Bottom line is: don’t just sit around and wait for things to happen to you. Because they won’t. We all have to work hard for them. Nothing comes easy. So start doing something today that will get you one step closer to your dreams.
