Survival Guide: Being you

be-yourselfEveryone always tells us to just be ourselves and everything will be alright.

Then why do people try to change you or tell you how to be “you”? Like they have any idea who “you” are.

Sometimes, no… rather… most of the times not even you know who you are or what you want to do. And instead of letting you figure it out they just put you in a box and expect you to act in a certain way. Be exactly what they want you to be.

And that’s not the problem. People do that all the time.

The real problem starts when you forget who you really are. When not even you remember how to be the real and original you. And that might be because you have been always listening to others and being what they wanted you to be.

It’s alright we all do that.

Hell, I do that all the time.

But there comes a time when you just so desperately want to be you. The real you. And you just have no idea how to do that.

You are so afraid of being you and making mistakes, letting people down around you, that you just keep being your safe-self, the one others created.

Breaking out of it is hard.

But not impossible.

But how are you supposed to break out of something and be you if you have no idea whouHD5SK36RCQbEYH5J7G179HVoyTiLgkrH1fx8thfsDdyW652e9ubnztuArPc1Tuu you is?

And fail.

But then try again.

And keep trying until you find yourself.

Yeah, it’s easy to say. But you know what’s easier? Not doing anything.

Figure yourself out, write it down on a paper who you think you are, all the things that shaped the real you.

Do your research of how you can use those things to your advantage.

Then step out of the box you’ve been living in and be yourself.
